Baby goes a Boom Boom BOOM!
So about 2 months ago the Shadow Charger threw a rod. It was an incident that was long over due. I knew that sooner or later, in this heat, and the punishment I was putting her under, that this would happen.
She had been tuned not a week before, and along with other changes, the shift points were upped. Meaning that instead of her shifting at 5600 rpm, she now shifted at 6000 rpm. Not the best friend of crappy rods.
We later found out that Dodge infact knew that the Rods on the R/T were not up to the challenge and thats why the SRT-8 has, among other improvements, better rods.
Thats all behind us now, and my original thought was lets go all out, a 426. or 7 liter. Issues then came up where almost 5000 US Dollars worth of secondary parts would be needed to make this possible.
I then was satisfied with getting a 392, or a 6.4 liter. However, a friend, Dyno Steve, let me know of an "Offer I couldnt refuse"
He had for me, a 409 ci motor. Thats a 6.7 liter. Set for a compression ratio of 11:1. And I jumped on it.
My old heads from PPP were slightly damaged and repaired. The new motor comes with all the bells and whistles, and a custom cam as well.
We are also adding the 3 pot front brakes, new rotors all around, new braided lines, new coil overs, an 85mm throttle body, much larger injectors, and a new performance torque converter.
Also adding matte graphics and a front chin.
Seriously, if this doesnt make over 600 bhp, I'm not sure what will. the motor is being shipped out in a few days time. And so this should all be kind of done come month's end.
Keep your finger's crossed.
